Reedy Sonic 540-M3 ROAR Spec Brushless Motor (25.5T) (ASC287)

Reedy's Sonic 540-M3 motor is now available in a version that meets ROAR's unique guidelines for 25.5 turn motors used in Formula and VTA racing classes! Resistance measures at the minimum legal value and shares the same great features list as the rest of the 540-M3 line.

Reedy's Sonic 540-M3 Spec Brushless Motor appears very similar to the Mach 2 on the outside, but a closer look shows that this is a completely unique motor and nothing has been carried over from the previous model. A 3-piece CNC machined can reduces weight while improving airflow, component fit, and bearing alignment. Heavy-duty silver-plated solder tabs are not only thicker to reduce resistance, but are also cupped to aid soldering, and are well supported to prevent internal connections from fatiguing over time.

Inside, the changes are less obvious, but result in huge performance gains that are much more noticeable. Several wind options are available and all meet ROAR, EFRA, and IFMAR specifications. Sonic 540-M3 Spec motors walk the edge of legality in exchange for maximum power output and RPM thanks to an redesigned stator, pure copper magnet wire, and low-resistance collector rings. Available in short-stack 17.5 and 13.5 versions to suit 1S-powered pan cars and with the right setup, can be used create a power advantage in 2S-powered buggies, trucks, and touring cars.

A balanced, high-strength sintered rotor provides powerful, fade-free performance thanks to improved manufacturing processes. To fine-tune for specific applications and tracks, a variety of optional rotors are available. Lastly, larger precision stainless steel ball bearings have been fitted to accommodate high RPM loads with improved reliability.
